A water heater that is leaking, knocking, or running cold does not always need replacing, and we will not tell you it does if it does not. We diagnose the real problem first: a bad element, a failed thermostat, sediment, a worn anode, or a tank that has genuinely reached the end of the road.

Tankless
Endless hot water, done to code.
Tankless is a great fit for a lot of Front Range homes: endless hot water, a smaller footprint, and a longer service life. But a tankless unit only delivers if it is sized and vented right, and the gas and water lines are set up for it. That is where a master plumber who is also a GC earns his keep.
We install new tankless systems, swap a failing tank for tankless, and repair and descale the units you already have. Colorado hard water is rough on them, so we set them up to last and show you how to keep them happy.

Hard water & maintenance
Colorado water is hard on a tank.
Front Range water is hard, and that hard water builds sediment in the bottom of a tank and scale inside a tankless unit. Left alone it makes the heater work harder, run louder, and quit early. A yearly flush and a check of the anode rod can add years to a tank, and a tankless unit needs a periodic descale to keep humming.
We also set up the parts that keep a system safe and code-compliant: expansion tanks, pressure relief, proper venting, and a sediment trap on the gas line. If hard water is the real problem, a softener protects the heater and everything else in the house.

Boilers & recirculation
Boilers, recirculation, and the extras.
Hot water is more than the tank in the closet. Plenty of Front Range homes run boilers and hydronic heat, and those systems need a plumber who understands them. We install, repair, and service boilers, and we handle the pumps, valves, and expansion gear that keep them running safe through a Colorado winter.
A recirculation pump is another upgrade folks love once they have it: hot water at the far bathroom the moment you turn the tap, instead of waiting and watching it run down the drain. We can add one to most systems, size it right, and set it on a timer so it is not running for nothing.

Should I repair or replace my water heater?
Depends on the age and the problem. A bad element or thermostat is worth fixing; a tank that is rusting or past its life is better replaced. We will look at it and tell you straight which one saves you money.
Is tankless worth it?
For many homes, yes: endless hot water, smaller footprint, and a longer life. It needs to be sized and vented correctly, which is exactly what we handle.
How long does a water heater install take?
A straightforward tank swap is usually a few hours. Tankless or a tank-to-tankless conversion takes longer because of the gas, water, and venting work, but it is typically a one-day job.
Does Colorado hard water affect my water heater?
Yes. Hard water builds sediment in tanks and scale in tankless units. We can set you up with maintenance, or a water softener, to make it last.
Do you handle emergencies?
Yes, 24/7. A leaking tank can do real damage, so call any time and we will get to it.
How long does a water heater last in Colorado?
A standard tank usually goes ten to twelve years here, sometimes less because the hard water builds sediment. A tankless unit lasts longer, twenty years or more, if it gets the occasional descale. Maintenance buys you the high end of those ranges.
What size water heater do I need?
It depends on how many people, how many bathrooms, and your hot-water habits, not just square footage. We size it to the way you actually live so you are not paying to heat water you never use, or running out mid-shower.
Can you put the water heater in a different spot?
Often yes. As a master plumber and GC, Wes can re-route the gas, water, and venting to relocate a heater, free up a closet, or move to a more practical spot. We will tell you what is realistic for your home.
