Serving Teller County
Up above the Front Range, on your own systems.
The practical consequence is that a lot of Teller County properties are running their own water and their own waste. A well, a pressure tank, a treatment setup, and a septic system with a leach field. Nobody is maintaining any of that for you, and there is no utility to call when something is off. When your water goes funny or your drains slow down, the problem is on your land and it is yours to sort out.
The winters are the other half of it. Cold sets in earlier, holds longer, and bites harder up here than it does down on the plain, and a house that sits empty for stretches has no heat working in its favor. Pipe freezes in the places you would expect and in a few you would not, and it usually announces itself on the thaw rather than during the freeze.

What this county throws at pipe
Deep cold, empty houses, and split pipe.
The freeze up here is not the mild version they get down in the metro. It arrives sooner, it stays, and overnight lows run well below what a marginal pipe run tolerates. Any line that passes through an unheated crawlspace, a vented foundation, an exterior wall, or an unconditioned garage is a candidate, and a house that has been sitting at fifty degrees while nobody is home has very little margin left.
What catches people out is the timing. A frozen pipe rarely leaks while it is frozen, because the ice plug is sealing the split it just made. Everything looks fine. Then the sun comes out, the plug melts, and water starts moving through a pipe that is no longer whole. That is why so many of these calls come in on the warm afternoon after the cold snap rather than during it.
Seasonal places make it worse, and Teller County has plenty of them: cabins and second homes that sit unoccupied through the worst months. If a place is going to be empty, it either needs heat maintained and the water on with real freeze protection, or it needs to be properly winterized: water off, system drained, traps protected, water heater dealt with. Half-measures are what produce a spring arrival and a foot of water in the crawlspace.
We thaw and repair frozen lines, and more usefully we fix why it froze. That means insulating the runs that need it, sealing the drafts that are actually doing the damage, rerouting a line out of a wall where it never belonged, and protecting the vulnerable stretches before the next hard night. Prevention is cheap up here compared to what a burst line costs in a finished mountain home.

Across Teller County
Your well, your septic, your problem to solve.
On a well property you are the water utility. The pump lifts it, the pressure tank stores it and keeps the pump from running every time somebody washes their hands, the pressure switch decides when the pump turns on, and whatever treatment you have handles what the ground gave you. When any one of those parts goes wrong, the symptom shows up at the tap and the cause is somewhere back down the line.
The pressure tank is the piece that fails most and gets blamed least. When its bladder goes, the tank stops holding a cushion of air, so the pump kicks on and off rapidly every time water moves. People hear it and assume the pump is just working hard. It is not, it is being destroyed. Short-cycling wears a well pump out fast, and pulling a pump is a far bigger job than swapping a tank. If yours is cycling more than it used to, that is the moment to look at it.
Mountain well water also has a character of its own, and it varies property to property. Hardness, iron that leaves orange staining in a toilet bowl, sometimes sulfur you smell at the tap. A softener handles hardness. Iron and sulfur need something else. That is why we start with a test rather than showing up with a system already picked out.
Septic changes how you should treat your drains. There is no municipal main forgiving your mistakes downstream, and what goes down the drain lands in your tank and eventually your leach field. Wipes, grease, and heavy chemical drain cleaners all cause real damage to a septic system. When a drain does back up, mechanical cleaning is the right answer, and a camera tells us whether we are dealing with a line problem or a tank that is due. We handle the plumbing from the house to the tank and work alongside your septic contractor on the rest.
One master plumber and licensed GC covers all of it up here, from a frozen line in a cabin to a full remodel, and a straight answer before any work starts.
Towns we cover
Teller County and its towns.
We cover Teller County across Woodland Park, Divide, Cripple Creek, Victor, and Green Mountain Falls, and out to the properties on the timbered lots between them. See how we leave a job in our gallery, or send us a note.
Teller is a drive from the shop, and we would rather be honest about that than promise a twenty-minute arrival we cannot make. On well and septic work we schedule a real window and load the truck for the job so you are not waiting on a second trip for a part. In winter we plan around the pass and the weather instead of pretending they do not exist.

Whole-job plumbing across Teller County.
Across Teller County that means drain and sewer work, water heaters tank and tankless, leak detection and repipes, fixtures and water softeners, gas lines, and full remodels and ground-up builds. One number, day or night, and the same standard on every job.
Water heaters take a beating at this elevation. The incoming water is genuinely cold most of the year, so the heater works harder for longer to reach temperature, and mineral content lays scale down in the tank on top of that. A tank that would give you a dozen years somewhere mild gives you less up here. Flushing it annually is worth the twenty minutes. And in a house that sits empty part of the year, the heater needs to be part of the winterizing conversation rather than an afterthought.
Propane is common up here where there is no natural gas service, and gas work is not a place for improvising. Whether it is a line to a range, a wall heater, or a generator, we size it, run it, pressure-test it, and get it inspected. Gas line work done properly is invisible for thirty years. Done poorly, it is the one that matters.

Questions we get a lot.
Do you actually come up to Teller County?
Yes. Woodland Park, Divide, Cripple Creek, Victor, Green Mountain Falls, and the properties in between are all within the roughly hundred-mile range we cover. It is a drive from the shop in Littleton, so we schedule a real arrival window rather than guess. If we cannot get to you in weather, we will say so instead of leaving you waiting.
How should I winterize a cabin I leave empty?
Either keep real heat in it with the water on and the vulnerable runs protected, or shut it down properly: water off at the main, the system drained, traps handled with antifreeze, and the water heater emptied and shut down. The middle ground, heat set low and water still on, is what produces a spring arrival and water in the crawlspace.
My pipe froze but nothing is leaking. Is it fine?
Not necessarily. Ice can split a pipe and then hold the split shut until it thaws, so the leak arrives hours later when water starts moving again. Shut the main off, let it thaw slowly, and watch that section once it is flowing. Do not put a torch on a frozen pipe. If it split, we can repair it and fix the reason it froze.
Do you work on wells and pressure tanks?
Yes. We handle the pressure tank, the pressure switch, and all the plumbing on the house side, plus softeners and filtration. Down-the-hole pump work we coordinate with a well contractor. If your pump is cycling on and off constantly, that is usually a failed tank bladder, and it is worth fixing before it takes the pump with it.
Does having a septic system change what I can put down the drain?
Considerably. Wipes, grease, and harsh chemical drain cleaners all cause real damage to a septic system, and there is no city main downstream to absorb the mistake. When something backs up, mechanical cleaning is the right answer. A camera run tells us whether it is a line issue or a tank that has come due for pumping.
My well water stains the toilet orange. What is that?
Iron. It is common in mountain wells and a water softener alone will not deal with it well, which is why people put one in and stay frustrated. Iron, hardness, and sulfur are three different problems needing three different answers. We test first and then recommend, rather than putting the same package on every property.
